Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers battled the elements in a disappointing 0-0 draw in front of a Huish Park crowd of 6654. The game didn't have the passion of a local derby both Yeovil and Rovers created very few chances.
Russell Slade acknowledged that the conditions played a large part in the result. "I think the weather got the better of both teams today. I was delighted with the way we defended against the elements."

Slade was disappointed with his sides second half performance, "We let ourselves down and didn't get enough balls into the box and put their back four under pressure."

Yeovil's latest loan signing Asmir Begovic made his first save in a Yeovil shirt, in the 11th minute from Rickie Lambert's effort.
A goalmouth scramble two minutes later nearly led to an opening goal for Lambert, but Glovers' right back Lee Peltier managed to clear the ball to safety.

Wayne Andrews was stretchered off 17 minutes into his debut after an assertive tackle from Terry Skiverton. Andrews' replacement was young forward Josh Klein-Davies.

It was the Glovers' skipper, Skiverton, who had the first chance for his side as he headed the ball just over from Zoltan Steiber's corner.

Rovers then played a long ball up field that both Nathan Smith and Terrell Forbes went to head that in the confusion allowed Klein-Davies to drive a low shot in, that Begovic saved with ease.

side managed to create any clear-cut chances until the 45th minute when Lambert forced Begovic to make an acrobatic save to palm the ball over.

Both teams returned from the break with the weather worsening and both sides cancelled each other out.

The injury plagued Matty Rose, was replaced by Jean Christophe in the 51st minute with experience midfielder going down injured again, this time with a thigh injury.

Lloyd Owusu dragged a first time effort wide of the Steve Phillips right post after he chased a lost cause.
A cross from Nathan Smith in the 55th minute found Terry Skiverton but the Glovers' captain didn't have time to react and chested the ball straight at Phillips.
The left back Smith was impressive on his full debut for Yeovil and his manager was delighted. "Nathan was outstanding at left back and I was really delighted with his performance."

Marcus Stewart nearly found the head of Terry Skiverton in the 75th minute but the linesman flagged Lloyd Owusu offside when the big striker wasn't in contention to win the ball.

Begovic was called into action for the first time in the second half, when he saved the onrushing Chris Line's effort with his feet in the 78th minute.
Yeovil's injury worries increased when the returning Jaime Peters was forced off with another injury in the 84th minute.

A free kick from Pirate's skipper Stuart Campbell drew another spectacular save from the man of the match Begovic in the 87th minute.
Slade was also pleased with his new keepers debut. "He's come in and taken over from Flinders as if nobody was missing. The free kick looked a good save and he can be pleased with his debut."

Lee Peltier's cross in stoppage time forced a scare for Rovers with Phillips scrambling to clear the ball from his line as Yeovil tried to find a late winner.

Yeovil aren't mathematically safe yet and Russell Slade understandably still wants some more points on the board. "Five games to go and we need to grind out a couple more results just to be certain.
