Yeovil Town's poor second half performance led to a 3-0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon at Huish Park.
Yeovil created few chances throughout the game as Crewe's eased their relegation fears but kept the pressure on the Glovers.

The Glover's fans left Huish Park with a bitter taste in their mouths' with Yeovil still not assured of League One safety.
Russell Slade was fuming with his players following the disappointing defeat: "One or two didn't put their shift in and that annoyed me immensely. Some will need to be shifted out for the long term."

A returning Steve Mildenhall was called into action in the 2nd minute when he saved Tom Pope's low drive.
However, there was nothing Mildenhall could do to prevent Crewe's opener.

Nicky Maynard's precise shot was far from the reach of Mildenhall as it deflected in off the post.
Yeovil almost hit back instantly with Ben Williams palming Andy Kirk's shot wide of this post.

The Huish Park faithful thought that the Glovers had equalised in the 10th minute but Lloyd Owusu was denied his 12th goal of the season after being ruled offside.
Yeovil were relentless in their attacks and Jaime Peters tested Williams again after skinning Alexandra's left back Patrick Boyle.

Crewe were then awarded a harsh free kick after Lee Peltier was adjudged to have brought down Gary Roberts unfairly.
Kenny Lunt dispatched the free kick wide of Mildenhall's goal to the relief of the Glover's fans.

Yeovil's latest acquisition, Nathan Smith, nearly got his first goal for the Glovers after his shot was saved well by Williams.
Crewe almost struck again when Steven Schumacher's had a shot that floated wide of the left post with Mildenhall rooted to the spot.

Half time: Yeovil Town 0 Crewe Alexandra 1
Mildenhall was the first of the keepers to be tested after the break when he was forced to save Tom Pope's goal bound header.
Crewe doubled their lead as Nicky Maynard lobbed the ball over the advancing Mildenhall after the Crewe's sharp shooter got around Forbes.

Slade was deeply upset with the second goal: "To concede then was criminal really. It was a desperate goal to concede. That was disappointing as it was through one ball rather than football"
Russell Slade made a controversial substitution by taking off Andy Kirk that was met by a chorus of 'boos' from the frustrated Yeovil fans.

Slade was also understanding of the supporter's frustration. "I'm frustrated like they are, I want a team to be proud of and at the moment that quite hard."
Joe Ansinyah drew a save from Mildenhall after the big striker took on Terrell Forbes to find himself through on goal.

Yeovil nearly pulled back when a goalmouth scramble saw Lloyd Owusu's header rebound off of the bar and onto the line with the assistant referee saying the ball didn't cross the line.
Yeovil's misery was added to when Lloyd Owusu went down under a challenge and looked in severe pain. He was stretchered off leaving the Glovers to play the remainder of the game with ten players.

Crewe added insult to injury in the 90th minute when Tom Pope scored a third goal on the counter attack.

Nicky Maynard had a chance to get a hat trick deep into stoppage time when he found himself one on one with Mildenhall and forced the Glover's keeper into another good save.

Gary Roberts could have added a fourth was it not for Mildenhall and another fantastic save in Yeovil goal.

Yeovil are left with a difficult run in with Swansea, Leeds and Nottingham Forest and with five points separating them from the drop zone they will need to pick up some points from their
remaining games.
