Yeovil's stirring second half performance came to nothing as Peterborough held on to claim victory at Huish Park.
Aaron McLean's first half strike made the difference as Posh notched up three points towards their bid for promotion.
But the Glovers bombarded the visitors' penalty area after the break, doing all they could in an effort to find an equaliser.

Skipper Terry Skiverton was denied by a goal line clearance, while Peterborough also survived a goalmouth scramble as they rode their luck in the closing stages.
Russell Slade had made two changes to his starting line-up, with Craig Alcock returning at right-back and Paul Warne joining Gifton Noel-Williams up front.

Posh keeper Joe Lewis was called into action early on, reacting well to keep out a low drive from Lee Peltier.

But it wasn't long before Peterborough's much-vaunted attack made an impact, with George Boyd curling a shot against a post on six minutes.
Two minutes later a clearance from Terry Skiverton fell to Craig Mackail-Smith on the edge of the area and he was denied by a sharp save from Josh Wagenaar.

But that stop was bettered by Lewis in the 15th minute as he dived full-length to somehow push a Danny Schofield volley around the post.
Wagenaar was kept busy as he produced another save to keep out a Sergio Torres effort before the Argentine shot wide after a neat one-two with Boyd.

On 25 minutes Torres put McLean clear of the Yeovil defence, only for the highly-rated front man to shoot wide.
Lewis then kept out a volley from Darren Way before the visitors made the breakthrough on 35 minutes.
Gareth Own slipped on the edge of the area, allowing McLean to advance on goal before slotting confidently past Wagenaar to make it 1-0.

Just before the break the Glovers had a great chance to pull level, but Noel-Williams headed wide from Gary Roberts' pinpoint cross.
After the break Town came close again, this time Skiverton heading over after beating his marker to a Danny Schofield corner.

As the half wore on Yeovil started to bombard the Peterborough penalty area in search of an equaliser and Craig Morgan cleared off the line after Skiverton pounced on a Lewis error.
Posh also held out in the closing stages when subs Andy Welsh and Aidan Downes both had shots in a goalmouth scramble.

Two minutes from time Skiverton, by now playing up front, was denied by a well-timed tackle from Russell Martin.
But despite wave after waves of attacks from the Glovers, the visitors held on to claim victory.
