Yeovil Town Football Club officially unveiled Blackthorn as the new home terrace sponsor at the opening League One game of the season against Walsall on Saturday.

John Mills, Managing Director of Gaymer Cider Company and makers of Blackthorn, accepted a commemorative plaque from Yeovil Town FC Chief Executive Martyn Starnes and official club mascot the Jolly Green Giant during the half time interval at Huish Park.

Last season, Blackthorn sponsored the 'Glovers' away end terrace, but happily took up the option of sponsoring the home terrace when it became available. The sponsorship is part of a £1.2m investment by Blackthorn into sport in the South West of England.

John Mills says, "Blackthorn is the South West's favourite cider and a passionate supporter of sport in the region. Enjoying a pint of cider at the football is the perfect match for any sports fan, and we are very excited to be a part of Yeovil Town FC and to be able to get closer to the local home fans."

Martyn Starnes, Chief Executive of Yeovil Town Football Club says, "We're delighted to welcome Blackthorn as the new home terrace sponsors. This is a fantastic partnership for both companies and we're looking forward to a long and successful relationship."
