Farewell To A Loyal Servant
Yeovil Town Football Club are sad to announce the death of long time servant Tony Trott aged 79.
Tony passed away yesterday evening after a long battle against Cancer, and everybody at the club from the Chairman and Directors to players and off the field staff, would like to pass on their condolences to Tony's family and wife Shirley.
Tony had been associated with Yeovil Town as both a supporter and a member of staff for over 40 years, and had been working at the club for some 14 years until his retirement last April.
His first job at Huish Park was as Caretaker alongside his wife Shirley, before taking over as Kit Manager and then taking up various other duties within the Club.
Only last April Chairman John Fry paid the following tribute to Tony: "There are not many people in football like Tony. Said Mr.Fry
"Tony is a real character and I am sure that everyone in this room could tell you a few funny things that he has either done or said over the years.
"The one that sticks in my mind goes back to when David Webb was Manager here and he thought Tony was a spy because every time he was on the phone talking about a player Tony was there.
"I would personally like to thank Tony for all his hard work during his 14 years here and I look forward to seeing him here on match days as the place will not be the same without him."
Naturally everyone at the club was sad to hear the news of Tony's passing and the Chairman John Fry was the first to lead the tributes to Tony.
